Life gets busy. New ideas show up. Resources and energy deplete faster than we think.
It seems as if there 1001 reasons to forget that old project we used to be so inspired about and either start something new or just take a break from the work the matters for a while—after all, doing the work that really matters can be tiring, disheartening, and/or easy to neglect as time passes on and new opportunities or ideas appear.
It's important to not be so hasty in letting that old project or idea dissapear, though. Because if it was important enough to start, then it's also important enough to finish.
What distinguishes the good from the excellent are the people who know when to quit and when to keep going.
It's up to us to make the right decisions about the right ideas and projects to pursue, which to forget, and which to look at later, but let's make sure we don't forget to never forget the work that really matters—even if it's older than your newest idea.
