Someone once told me speed walking is just as good as jogging at developing cardiovascular health, but that speed walking is ultimately healthier for a person because it's easier on the joints.
Yet, most people choose to jog instead of speed walk. Why? It's because most people think speed walking in public is reserved for the weirdos. And in sense, the people who think that are right: a person speed walking in public does tend to look weirder than the person jogging.
But it's the speed walker who will ultimately be healthier.

All of us have to make this choice sooner or later. So it's best to make it sooner.
