I'm not very good at celebrating the creative wins in my life.
What about you?
If you're like me and most of the creatives I know, you're not great at celebrating the things you have accomplished. Instead, you finish one project and you move onto the next without stopping and saying what happened here that's never happened before? Do we need to buy a cake and ring some bells? Do we need to high five some colleagues and/or creative partners? Do we need to go out for a pint and reflect?
I think we're often afraid to celebrate either because we don't want to seem vain or because it means we have to investigate what we've made; reflect on it, and in the process, and see it for the good and the bad things it accomplished or did.
I'm trying to celebrate the wins more, though. Not in a vain sense and not in a sense that means I crumble when I reflect on something I've completed and shared.
And maybe you should try doing this more too.
