If you art is funny all the time, try injecting something serious into it.
Because it can be counterproductive to hammer on and inspire just one emotion in your art.
Every once in a while it's important to step back and ask: is there something I can add or subtract to increase my depth as an artist; how might I add more textures to this work to hit peoples' emotions in different places?
Some of my favourite artists are the ones who can go from telling sad stories, to sharing challenging information, to delivering a hilarious story, all in one piece of work.
I mean, sure, it's hard pushing ourselves out of our emotional sweet spots as artists, but it's character forming — for both you and the people engaging with your art.
